Interested in alternative ways to make protein?

The National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce (NCBW) of Forsyth Technical Community College and the Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein at NC State announce the Biosciences Summer Industry Fellows Program Opportunity for Summer 2025.

The NCBW Biosciences Industry Fellows Program is a program, funded by the NSF ATE division, where community college and/or high school instructors have an opportunity to work in industry or an institution for a 6-8 week period.

We have a unique experience to announce. We are working with the Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein to provide two (2) summer Fellowships to work in the Alternative Protein area, using the proven NCBW Bioscience Summer Industry Fellows Program Model.

This Fellows program will give the selected two candidates a 6 - 8 week experience in an industry or institutional setting. This experience is quite unique for Faculty, it gives them an opportunity to understand the industry/institute environment and consequently better inform the students they prepare. The selected Fellows will be under the direction of the employer that they are matched with and will be paid a stipend ($ 1000 per week), travel, and lodging expenses according to our policy at Forsyth Tech.

If you are interested in this unique opportunity, please email Russ Read  at  rread@forsythtech.edu and state why this Fellowship is important to your career growth and how you intend to use the experience in your classroom with your students.

The NCBW will be accepting applications until Dec 15, 2024.

Selections will be made in the December- January time frame; Match making happens early into the new year 2025.
