Still Wanted: Assistant Professor Biomanufacturing University of Texas Austin
The Texas Institute for Discovery Education in Science in the College of Natural Sciences invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty appointment to conduct research in protein biomanufacturing with undergraduates as part of the Freshman Research Initiative (FRI) in the new Biomanufacturing stream, in collaboration with principal investigators Andy Ellington and Bryan Davies. FRI merges the teaching and research missions of the university by engaging undergraduates in conducting research project(s) related to a faculty member’s ongoing research (https://cns.utexas.edu/fri). Faculty in FRI have the title of “Research Educators” and are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that allows undergraduates to engage with and contribute to the PIs’ research.
This position is part of a BioMADE grant and consists of a 100% time, non-tenure track appointment with the faculty title of Assistant Professor of Practice. The position is renewable on an annual basis depending on job performance and class enrollments, for up to 1.5 years. Continuation beyond the grant period will be contingent on program outcomes and securing additional funding to support the stream research and activities.
The position starts between June 1st and July 1st, 2022.
