It’s that time of year.  The ATE proposal deadline is October 14th and getting closer every minute. To smooth the path, I compiled a few resources that might be helpful for those of you in the throes of writing.

1.  Are you have trouble getting started?  This article from Dr. Lisa Seidman should provide plenty of inspiration. Dr. Seidman outlines her process and in doing so, helps you remember why you wanted to write the grant in the first place.
Every grant proposal tells a story

2.  Helpful guidance with making a BioSketch.  The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) has a tool (SciENcv) for making a BioSketch (and updating it, too).

The NCBI just posted an updated video about SciENcv- the tool for making your biosketch.  https://loom.ly/ho4r-S0

3.  The 2021 ATE program solicitation

4.  The Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG)    Never fear, this is the version that goes into effect on Oct. 4th, 2021. This is the one you want to use.

5.  ATE projects related to biotechnology.  The NSF expects you to know about the kinds of projects that have been funded.  We've gathered the active projects all here for your learning pleasure.

5.  Pathways to Innovation has a nice set of materials on ATE grant applications.   https://www.pathwaystoinnovation.org/ate-answers/
They will also be posting the Aug. 3rd webinar with Dr. V. Celeste Carter talking about the new ATE solicitation and answering questions.
