Vacaville Commits to Biomanufacturing and Solano College

A newly formed partnership between the City of Vacaville and Solano College has led to creating the California Biomanufacturing Center, a nonprofit dedicated to accelerating the growth of the biomanufacturing in Vacaville. 

The city of Vacaville expects biomanufacturing companies to add at least 10,000 jobs with a payroll of more than $1 billion a year.  Graduates from Solano College will be ready to apply!

This partnership will allow the biomanufacturing program at Solano College to expand, with future graduating classes having as many as 60 students per year. 

Connecting the dots in an education pathway
Not only is this exciting partnership good news for Solano College, the biomanufacturing program at Solano College is part of a complete education pathway.  Students can begin a biomanufacturing career by earning an associates degree at one of five community colleges.  If they wish to continue their education, they can earn a Bachelor's degree in Biomanufacturing from either MiraCosta or Solano College.  And should they wish to study further, they can earn graduate credits at Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing, through an articulation agreement with Solano College.
