Program Description
The Biotechnology Training Program at Moorpark offers a comprehensive curriculum in biotechnology and biomanufacturing.
The program offers a Bachelors of Science degree in Biomanufacturing, an A.S. Degree in Biotechnology, a Certificate of Achievement in Biotechnology, a Biotechnology Manufacturing Operator Certificate of Achievement, and a Certificate of Achievement in Biomedical Device Manufacturing (in collaboration with Ventura College). There are several large Biotechnology companies in Ventura County including Amgen, Shire, and Allergan. In addition, there is a thriving group of small start-up Biotechnology and Medical Device companies growing in the area.
Tuition options: students who register for full time credit and meet a minimum GPA of 2.5 qualify for the "Moorpark Promise", which allows them to take classes free of tuition.
High school partnerships: Students who complete articulated courses at Simi Valley and Newbury Park high schools can receive credit for Introduction to Biotechnology and Molecular Biology course at Moorpark College.
