Biofuel technicians carry out the laboratory work involved in producing biofuels such as ethanol and biodiesel.
Biofuels technology programs include: Ethanol-- science and processes behind the production of ethanol as a transportation fuel; Biodiesel-- science and processes behind the production of biodiesel as a transportation fuel; and General-- production of both ethanol and biodiesel, including safety, math, and process control.
Courses may include:
- Knowledge of Feedstocks
- Oil Chemistry (pretreatment, esterification, transesterification)
- Grain Preparation
- Molecular Sieves
- Laboratory Basics.
