Forensic DNA technicians perform DNA testing in state or private laboratories to determine if DNA samples match those found at a crime scene. Some forensic technicians work for NOAA or state fish and wildlife agencies to determine if materials were derived from endangered animals, fish, or plants. Forensic training may also incorporate work with mitochondrial DNA analysis and anthropology.
