A certificate in biosafety prepares students to maintain facilities and protect worker safety in environments where pathogenic organisms might be found or studied. These facilities are also known as high containment environments.  Biohazardous Risk Reduction techniques are stressed.  Individuals who enroll in these programs work in diverse areas where it can be helpful to understanding the proper techniques for working around pathogens and reducing risks to themselves and others.  In addition to laboratory staff, this certificate is helpful for people who work in animal care, ambulance personnel, and other first responders.
