2026 C2A3 NATIONAL CONFERENCE

November 2nd:  Jim Hewlett, InnovATEBIO CoPI and Linnea Fletcher, InnovATEBIO PI will be speaking at the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement (C2A3) conference in San Antonio, TX.  

Talk title:  Shaping the Agriculture and Biotech Classroom

Description: As the agricultural sector increasingly integrates advanced biological tools—from genomic sequencing and molecular diagnostics to bio-based crop protection and bioindustrial manufacturing—the demand for a skilled technical workforce at the intersection of agriculture and biotechnology has never been greater. This session explores strategies for bridging agricultural sciences and biotechnology education in high school and community college classrooms. Drawing from the national infrastructure of InnovATEBIO (the NSF National Biotechnology Education Center) and two-year agricultural workforce initiatives within C2A3, we will highlight best practices for developing interdisciplinary, industry-aligned curricula.
