Talk 1:  How Community College Technician Programs Impact Regional Economic Development

Project PI:  Michelle Van Noy, PhD, Rutgers University, NJ

Description: This presentation will provide an overview of the research study conducted at Rutgers investigating the role of community college technician programs in economic development. The research included interviews with NSF ATE project personnel, in-depth case studies of technician programs at eight colleges across the country, labor market studies, and regional employer surveys. The presentation will also share tools developed for colleges to help them better understand and articulate their impact and, ultimately, strengthen their technician programs and their role in the regional economic development activities.
