Event Description
Welcome to the first talk in the InnovATEBIO 2023 series of virtual ATE project talks. Leaders in biotechnology workforce education from across the US will be sharing their work on exciting projects funded by the National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program. The ATE program supports the education of technicians for the high-technology fields that drive our nation's economy.
In this first talk, we'll learn about using speed networking as a mechanism to help students connect with employers, advisory board members, and alumni.
Dr. Karen Leung will talk about:
- speed networking in person vs. virtually
- what students say about speed networking - benefits
- data from students - assessment & feedback
- feedback from industry & alumni partners
You will also have chance to speed network with each other! This will give you a chance to try it out in a low pressure setting and get to chat with your colleagues.
