School Description

Bonney Lake High School is a comprehensive public high school in the Sumner School District that serves approximately 1,500 students each year. We are in the early stages of developing a Health Sciences program within the school, preparing students for professions in the areas of Therapeutic Services, Diagnostic Services, and Biotechnology Research and Development. Students participating in the Biotechnology Research and Development Pathway gain experience with aseptic and sterile techniques, microscopy, micropipetting, solution preparation, gel electrophoresis, Polymerase Chain Reaction, and DNA sequencing. Course topics include concentration calculations, bioethics, genetics, genomics, proteomics, and biomedical engineering.

The Health Sciences program receives academic support from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's Science Education Partnership and the University of Washington Department of Genome Sciences Education Outreach.  We welcome new partners!
