US Department of Labor TAACCCT Round II (#TC-23761-12-60-A-37) DUE 1501631, NSF-ATE Program's Regional Center of Excellence Grant Award to Northeast Biomanufacturing Center and Collaborative (NBC2) Phase IV, and Phase III DUE 0703033, Life Sciences Technical Training in Southern Indiana DUE 1003498, Establishing a Bioscience Alliance of the Midwest Region Ivy Tech Bloomington was awarded an $85,000 Perkins Competitive Grant from the Indiana Department of Education, fall 2016 to increase rural career and technical education in biotechnology. The $85,000 grant was used to establish dual credit biotechnology classes at the high schools. Starting last spring, students at high schools in Bloomfield, Brown County, Eastern Greene, and Owen Valley, had the option to earn dual high school and college credit at no cost to their families. Duke Energy provided an additional $15,000, supporting the purchase of textbooks, not covered by the grant funding.
