Ivy Tech Community College also offers three Associate degree programs in biotechnology and biolgoy as well as two career development certificates to support the growth of the growth of the life science industry in Indiana.
(1) An Associate of Science in Biotechnology (AS) degree program has been designed to prepare students for transfer to regional 4-year institutions to pursue degrees in life science.
(2) An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree has been designed to prepare individuals for employment as research, process, or QC/QA technicians in the life science industry.
(3) An Associate of Science in Biology (AS) degree program has been designed also to prepare students for transfer to regional 4-year institutions to pursue degrees in life science.
(4) The program for biotechnology programs offer a set of classes in a workforce development certificates in Regulatory Affairs and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. These certificates were designed to enable pre- or post-Bachelor’s AAS students or employees to acquire the knowledge and skills to specialize their degrees or improve their professional standing.
Each regional Ivy Tech biotechnology program maintains an association with regional industry through an Academic Industry Advisory Board. Board members consult with the regional biotechnology department chairs and faculty for program improvement and the tailoring of curricula to meet regional industry needs.
