Lakeland’s biotechnology science program has more than a 90 percent placement rate into jobs or students transfer to a four-year school. Graduates end up working in research and development, quality control, and biomedical manufacturing. Institutions, where graduates matriculate, include Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, Indiana Wesleyan University, John Carroll University, Lake Erie College, Kent State University and Youngstown State University. Lakeland also has a 2+2 articulation with Ursuline College, which allows students to transfer all of their credits and graduate with a bachelor’s degree in two additional years or less.
Bioinformatics concentration
Lakeland Community College also offers a hybrid technical program that contains approximately equal amounts of Lakeland's biotechnology science and information technology/computer science courses. Job opportunities include biology and biomedical research, healthcare, and biomedical informational services sectors.
