Life Science Trends Report

A report produced by The Coalition of State Bioscience Institutes (CSBI). The report summarizes hiring trends in terms of available jobs, degree requirements, and desired employee attributes. 

Data were obtained from:

• Interviews of 135 life science executives
•  Survey responses from 354 life science industry hiring managers and HR professionals
• A quantitative analysis of over 53,400 job postings for life science technical jobs nationwide, drawn from representative industry NAICS codes

The companies interviewed and surveyed span the five major areas as defined by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). They include:

1. Agriculture, Feedstock and Chemicals

2. Drugs and Pharmaceuticals

3. Medical Devices and Equipment

4. Research Testing and Medical Laboratories

5. Bioscience-related Distribution
