These skills standards were assembled by Bio-Link, and created by a consortium of community colleges, led by the National Center for the Biotechnology Workforce at Forsyth Technical Community College. The consortium worked to identify skill standards in biomanufacturing, medical devices, biotechnology laboratory skills, and skills shared by all of these domains.
For nearly 30 years, the biotechnology community has invested enormous effort in defining the skills technicians need to succeed. The result is a rich but unwieldy body of work—hundreds of pages of skill standards, largely locked in PDFs that are difficult to search, compare, or reuse. What does AI see in these data?
