DMACC Biotechnology program graduate Lyndsay Baker has accomplished one of her dreams. In November she will have an experiment sent to the International Space Station for research. Lyndsay hopes that the algae grown as part of her experiment will produce the compound astaxanthin to help keep astronauts healthy.
At Del Mar College we have developed a product (Enterosword), to use against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. We then submitted the product to the NSF Innovation Challenge. The challenge is an event that gives community college students who have a novel idea that uses science, technology, engineering or mathematics the chance to submit projects for review.
