The Business of Biotech is an interesting series of podcasts aimed at providing a glimpse into the business aspects of building and running a biotech company.  I am trained as a scientist, and have never worked on the business side of biotech, but Matt Pillar's interview of Dr. William Green, MD, at Foundation Therapeutics made sense to me, and was quite informative.

Fountain Therapeutics isn't a very old company-but it is using its AI driven platform to treat "the predominant challenge to health and quality of life"--aging. Dr Green was a research scientist and kept his clinical ties even went he went to industry--but he wanted to reach more patients, and so made a move to venture capital. He is now CEO of Iconic Therapeutics, and Fountain Therapeutics---that was not planned, but both opportunities were to good to miss and represent different business stages--Iconic is already in the clinic while Fountain is at a more preliminary strategy.

Fountain Therapeutics has an interesting challenge, to get past the possible preconceptions about a company that is working on aging. Green has a deep belief in the company and is quite comfortable with their approach--treat the diseases of aging, to accomplish healthy aging, not avoiding aging.

Listen to the podcast to hear more about how Fountain Therapeutics is tackling some of the most challenging human diseases.

And if you like this podcast, there are plenty more --89 episodes and counting, one every week.
