Students Shine at the CCSF Biosymposium
Happy New Year! As promised, albeit a bit late, a short blurb on the Fall 2019 CCSF Biosymposium:
The 24th City College of San Francisco Biosymposium, held at UCSF, welcomed over 170 attendees, including 31 CCSF students presenting posters and 30+ volunteers from academia, industry and government supporting those student's career development through mock interviews, judging poster presentations, and networking lunch discussions. An Internship Mentor panel with CCSF research internship mentors from UCSF and BABEC, moderated by Laurence Clement, focused on building strategies for effective and inclusive research mentoring utilizing the framework being utilized in the CCSF-UCSF: A Collaborative Approach to Work-Based Learning ATE grant.
CCSF Bioscience Interns presented posters on internship research they performed at labs and organizations around the SF Bay Area, including UCSF, USDA, Lawrence Berkeley National Labs, Dorian Therapeutics, Valencia Street Food Safety, and Cel Analytical. This was also the first time the CCSF Biosymposium welcomed other community college Biotech programs with 2 posters from Skyline Community College's Biotech program!
