Virtual Speed Networking at CCSF
Since 2018, the Biotechnology Program at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) has been hosting Speed Networking events with CCSF Biotech students and industry professionals. Since Spring 2020 we've adapted these events to be virtual and are using them even more broadly to not only promote student career exploration and networking, but also to build and maintaining industry partnerships and alumni networks, and recruitment new students to the program.
In Fall 2020 we utilized Zoom to host 3 virtual speed networking events:
- A recruiting event where new/potential students met with alumni and faculty to learn about the CCSF Biotech program.
- An alumni networking event where 30+ current students met with 11 alumni to learn about their path from the program to their current career 11 CCSF Biotech alumni working at UCSF, USDA, Nitrome Biosciences, Gladstone Institutes, Neurona Therapeutics, Chimera Biotherapeutics, UCSC, UC Merced and Mantra Bio.
- A current student-industry event where 30+ current students met with 20 biotech/life science industry professionals from UCSF, Denali Therapeutics, CytomX Therapeutics, Nitrome Biosciences, Gladstone Institutes, Neurona Therapeutics, DuPont Industrial Biosciences, Artemys Foods, Ambys Medicines, Ipsen, Cortexyme, HappiLabs, MacroGenics and Mantra Bio.
