2016 National Instititues of Health Community College Day

Save the date for the National Institutes of Health Community College Day!  Spend a day visiting the NIH campus and learning about careers and training opportunities in the biomedical and health care fields. The day will consist of career panel discussions, science seminars, a keynote address from the Director, Sharon Milgram, the popular networking luncheon event, faculty breakout sessions and of course the NIH Community College Summer Enrichment program will be highlighted.  This year there are additional panel discussions AND the NIH Postdoctoral Fellow/Community College Faculty meet & greet has been brought back!

This year's panel discussions will include:

• Careers in Biomedical Research:  Basic and Clinical
• Non-Research Biomedical Careers
• Careers in Nursing
• Careers in Math and Engineering
• Professional Health Careers
• Allied Health Careers
• Careers in Behavioral Sciences

New this year!:  A general session on the Advances and Application of Immunotherapy

There will also be professional development skills blitzes in the afternoon:

• Networking/Informational Interviews
• Transitioning to a 4-year school
• Effective Time Management
• Creating a Resume
• Managing Stress
• Interviewing Skills
• Finding a career for you
