Event Description
The Bio-Link equipment depot gives away free supplies and equipment to teachers at any level from kindergarten and up. Supplies are donated by partners in the biotech industry. The Depot has evolved as a California distribution center for donated biotechnology equipment and supplies. The location at the City College of San Francisco (CCSF) Airport Campus is ideal for receiving and distributing equipment.
Open houses are held every other month and teachers can also schedule visits by appointment. The Depot has become a gathering place where teachers meet, pick up equipment and supplies, and also donate their time and ideas. The Depot has distributed over $5,000,000 worth of equipment and materials to over 90 schools, positively impacting over 32,000 students each year. The Depot has 40-50 volunteers who regularly support the Open House events. Approximately 300 teachers have benefitted from Depot supplies and Equipment distributed through Open Houses.
